Theoretical investigation of droplet splitting due to electrowetting on dielectric in a Hele–Shaw cell

In this study, we investigated electrowetting on the dielectric-induced splitting behavior of droplets placed in a Hele–Shaw cell. The deformation droplet was experimentally observed under various applied voltages. A theoretical model proposed to express by balancing surface tension, viscous force, and pressure acting droplet. effect dynamic contact angle considered used estimate capillary force along moving line. results obtained from showed qualitative agreement with droplets. An approximate verify observations that demonstrated line widths at boundary between positive negative electrodes remain almost constant during process. linewidth explained using based minimum work required for
